The Department of Agriculture- Cordillera opened its Trade Fair and Garage Sale on June 30, 2020, at the DA-CAR Compound, Guisad, Baguio City.
This is part of the activities during the 32nd DA-CAR Anniversary with the theme Celebrating 32 years of Resilient Agriculture in the Cordillera.
The trade fair and garage sale feature various products produced, processed, and traded by the DA-CAR staff as part also of coping up with the COVID19 pandemic. It offers food and non-food products like assorted vegetables, cactus, pots, pastries, ukay-ukay clothes, bags, accessories, and processed products like kimchi.
Jerry Damoyan, Chief of Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division, said it is one avenue to hone staff of their entrepreneurial skills, be market-driven and boost their confidence.
He said that all staff should have a mindset of being market-driven. A market-driven organization has a customer focus and an understanding of the market.
“DA Staff should be a model in demonstrating the entrepreneurial skill to target clients” he added.
Likewise, Dr. Ofelia Pacio Ducayag, Veterinarian IV, Assistant Chief of Integrated Laboratory Division said entrepreneurial skill is one of the important skills that we have to learn as an employee.
She said activities should be done more often. Especially if most of our products are from home planting efforts
“To be able to help others in every season, resilient also is being able to thrive and not just survive even in trying times”, she added.
Eduardo Lumiwan, resident of San Carlos Height, Baguio City commended the said event. “Adu ti magatang nangruna ti makkan”, he remarked.
He said it allows the public to see and experienced the product made by the staff of the department.
The said trade fair is opened form 8:00 am to 5:00 pm until July 03, 2020, and simultaneously operating with the Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita Retail.
