To strategize interventions of the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office-Cordillera Administrative Region (DA-RFO-CAR) initiated the Regional Management Committee (RMC) Meeting with its attached agencies for the first quarter at the DA Conference Hall, Guisad, Baguio City on March 27, 2018.
The meeting was attended by representatives from Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (FIDA) of Regions I, II, and CAR; National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS); Agricultural Training Institute (ATI); Baguio National Crops Research Development Center- Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI-BNCRDC); Agricultural Credit Policy Council (ACPC); National Food Authority (NFA)-Benguet; Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR); Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) of Region I, II, III, IV-B and CAR; and staffs of DA-RFO-CAR headed by Regional Executive Director Narciso A. Edillo.
The above agencies presented their programs and projects that are being implemented in the Cordillera this year. Also, issues and concerns were clarified during the meeting.
The RMC meeting will be conducted quarterly to determine and assess how the RFO and its attached agencies will complement each other’s projects and programs.
Edillo said that DA should come together to be able to accomplish the moral obligation of the present administration to provide available and affordable food for the Filipinos.// Karen T. Gawigawen and Rebecca Dibdiben
