Conner, Apayao Mayor Leonardo D. Dangoy congratulates the representatives of each barangay in Conner in their steadfast efforts for the improvement of the municipality while encouraging the outgoing officials to train their successors in their good practices.


The Department of Agriculture (DA), Regional Field Office CAR conducted a community orientation on the agency’s programs and projects for Conner Apayao in Barangay Calafug on March 8, 2018.

The activity was spearheaded by Regional Agricultural Engineering Division (RAED) of the Department of Agriculture-CAR.

The orientation was participated by officers and representatives from the municipal government of Conner, Apayao, the Barangay Agriculture and Fisheries Council, and more than 50 participants from each barangay, composed of members from local farmers’ associations and their respective barangay councils of Conner town.

During the orientation, RAED Chief, Engr. Filemon Salvador discussed the rural infrastructure programs and projects of the agency.

He highlighted the five banner programs and the infra projects that can be availed by farmers, and the requirements and guidelines to follow when proposing for irrigation, warehouses or storage facilities, farm to market roads and postharvest machineries among other projects to be supported by the DA.

With the completion of social preparations for Small Water Impounding Project (SWIP) and Diversion Dam (DD) projects around the province, he reiterated strict adherence to the new administration’s “one year cash budgeting.” Pursuant to this policy, Engr. Salvador said that by the end of the year, unfinished projects shall be discontinued and will no longer receive funds from the agency or the government.

Conner’s Mayor Leonardo D. Dangoy having expressed his gratitude for the DA’s response to their letter of request for a briefing, ended by telling the farmers that there are a lot of irrigation projects in the municipality and a lot more projects coming for this year. To continue the support of the DA, strengthening the support of the officials on the projects and continuing the positive cooperation of all the farmer beneficiaries are crucial and must be sustained, Mayor Dangoy said. //Ynapuy
