The mini-retailing trading center for organic products will serve as outlet for organic products. It will facilitate the access of these products by the consumers.
Crispin Abellera, BLOFA Chairman, said that the trading center will go a long way in encouraging the members to expand production areas and increase the volume of organic products sold in the market. In effect, this will increase their income.
The products to be displayed for sale are strictly to be produced by credible and certified organic farmers. Further, to ensure the quality, traceability and assurance of the products to the buying public as real organic and safe to consume quarantine system will be installed and observed in every procurement transaction.
The establishment can also serve as outlets for organic products from of the nine barangays of the municipality of Itogon, and even nearby municipalities such as Bokod, Kabayan and La Trinidad.
The trading center will start its services within the month of February with products such as assorted low land and upland vegetables and root crops, assorted fruits and coffee products, kintoman rice, poultry, pork, and livestock products, organic inputs and supplies.//Jenny M. Dayao
