๐ˆ๐ ๐๐‡๐Ž๐“๐Ž๐’ || The Department of Agriculture – Cordillera (DA-CAR) joined in the celebration of the 121st Founding Anniversary of the DA-Bureau of Plant Industry – Baguio National Crop Research, Development, and Production Support Center (BPI-BNCRDPSC) today, December 3, 2025 at BPI Compound, Guisad, Baguio City.
Gracing the celebration is DA-CAR Regional Technical Director for Research and Regulations Dr. Arlene M. Sagayo, representing Regional Executive Director Atty. Jennilyn M. Dawayan. She congratulated the bureau for its century-long journey and unwavering dedication to agriculture that has continuously strengthened, uplifted, and empowered communities across generations.
She also highlighted the partnership between BPI-BNCRDPSC and DA-CAR in ensuring that the Philippine agriculture sector continues to thrive and remain sustainable, specifically on championing the Good Agricultural Practices. She also shared that the Cordillera region remains at the top with the highest number of GAP-certified farms, with 693 certified farms, where Benguet leads the country with 543 active certificates.
She also expressed her gratitude to the bureau for awarding the Research Outreach Stations (ROSes) of Kalinga and Apayao, and the Baguio Animal Breeding and Research Center with their Plant Material Certificates on Mother Trees and Planting Materials of Fruits and Plantation Crops.
