Budget Officers of the Department of Agriculture (DA) and its attached bureaus and agencies kicked-off its four-day National Workshop on the Preparation of the Financial Accountability Reports (FARs) for the 4th Quarter of 2025, today, January 13, in Baguio City.
The workshop aims to strengthen participants’ understanding of financial policies, improve compliance with existing rules and regulations, and enhance their capacity to prepare clear, timely, and reliable financial reports.
In her opening remarks, DA–Cordillera Regional Executive Director Atty. Jennilyn M. Dawayan recognized the efforts of budget personnel as the silent backbone of the agency’s financial accomplishments.
“Your dedication ensures that our programs reach our farmers and fisherfolk with integrity and accountability. The finances you manage are not just numbers; they represent life in our communities. Every peso accounted for in your reports tells a story of a farmer’s sweat, perseverance, and pride in sustaining the nation’s agricultural heritage,” RED Dawayan said.
She also underscored the importance of the activity as a collaborative opportunity to discuss issues, share updates, harmonize practices, and learn best practices from one another to further improve and strengthen the DA’s budgeting process.
“The lessons we learn are not only from our successes, but also from the challenges we face. I am truly hopeful that these will emerge from your discussions,” she added.
The activity will help the agency finalize the preparation and reconciliation of FARs and provide guidance on issuances, updates, and mandatory requirements set by oversight agencies. It also aims to assist operating units in generating monthly and quarterly financial reports using the updated templates, as well as in discussing issues, concerns, and other related requirements.//CEWaytan
