The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office Cordillera Administrative Region (DA-RFO CAR) formally turned over a Goat Multiplier Farm Project to the Namsong Farmer’s Ob-obbo on June 2, 2026, in Namsong, Ambasing, Sagada, Mountain Province.

In her message, Atty. Jennilyn M. Dawayan, Regional Executive Director of DA RFO CAR, delivered by Dr. Arlene M. Sagayo, Regional Technical Director for Research and Regulations, urged the beneficiaries to embody the values represented by the acronym GOATS – Gratitude, Opportunistic, Accountability, Transparency, and Stewardship, in managing and sustaining the project to ensure its long-term benefits for their organization and community.

The project, implemented under the Livestock Economic Enterprise Development (LEED) Program, has a total project cost of Php 4.6 million and aims to strengthen community-based goat production while creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for local farmers in Mt. Province.

As part of the intervention, the association received 27 heads of goat animal stocks, one unit of animal housing facility, three forage choppers, animal and zoological supplies, and various agricultural supplies, including plastic drums. These project components are intended to support the establishment and operation of a multiplier farm that will serve as a source of quality breeding stocks for future beneficiaries.

Through the project’s redistribution scheme, the future offspring that will be produced from the multiplier farm will also be distributed to qualified secondary beneficiaries allowing more farmers to benefit from the program.
